The Spanish tennis top star Carlos Alcaraz will not be playing at the ATP tournament in Basel from October 23rd as planned. As the world number two announced on social networks on Wednesday, the reason for this was minor injury problems.
“I have an arch problem on my left foot and am suffering from muscle fatigue in the lumbar region that needs to be addressed so I can play the rest of the season,” the 20-year-old wrote on X.
Alcaraz did not provide any information about the time of his return – but it can be assumed that he will take part in both the Masters in Paris (October 30th to November 5th) and the ATP Finals in Turin in mid-November, for which he has already qualified want to get started.
