This project was announced during a meeting at the “Pancho Cerda” Gym, where representatives from different sports institutions met to discuss the initiative, after the invitation of the municipality.
During the talk, Hernán Martínez, president of the Ente Comodoro Deportes, praised the initiative of Mayor Fernando Cotillo to establish an autonomous entity in Caleta Olivia similar to the one he directs.
“This structure will allow obtaining the necessary funds to improve sports infrastructure in the region,” he said. Martínez highlighted “Cotillo’s dedication to investing in local sports and his commitment to the community.”
Gastón Rodríguez shared details about the efforts carried out so far, highlighting the meetings with Comodoro representatives during the last few months.
According to Rodríguez, the Caleta Olivia Deportes Agency project is ready for political decision-making, as emphasized by Mayor Fernando Cotillo. The undersecretary added that they are waiting for the essential tool for its creation to be provided.
The meeting at the “Pancho Cerda” Gymnasium had the participation of members of various sports disciplines, including chess, taekwondo, judo and soccer. The objective was to clarify doubts and discuss the challenges they face, from generating funds for club maintenance to installing synthetic grass.
