Caimanes de Barranquilla Announces Foreign Player Lineup for Upcoming Season

The Caimanes de Barranquilla confirmed 10 of their 12 foreign players that they would use in this campaign, among them, six pitchers, one catcher, two infielders and one outfielder. The Barranquilla team confirmed the following names:

Fernando Pérez- Right Pitcher (Dominican Republic)

Player with experience in the Colombian league, although he already represented Caimanes in the Caribbean Series, making up the champion roster of the 2022 edition. He belonged to the Detroit Tigers organization until the 2019 season, eventually pitching in the AA classification. In Colombia he has also pitched with the Tigres de Cartagena and the Vaqueros de Montería.

Héctor García- Left-handed pitcher (Dominican Republic)

Player who once again wears the colors of the Caymans, in the minor leagues he was with the Pittsburg Pirates organization, where he played for four seasons in their Minor Leagues, between 2013 and 2017.

Iván Piñeyro- Right Pitcher (Dominican Republic)

It is his first time in Colombia. Piñeyro has experience with several Major League organizations, in the Minor Leagues where he reached the AAA classification. In 2023 he comes from pitching in the Independent League of the Atlantic League with the Staten Island ninth.

Jalen Miller- Right Pitcher (United States- Italy)

Another who repeats with Caimanes, comes from playing with the reptiles in the Baseball Champions League in Mexico.

Pedro Torres- Left Handed Pitcher (Nicaragua)

Pedro Torres returns to Caimanes de Barranquilla, to serve as the Reptiles’ starter. Last season he made 6 starts with the Saurios, leaving a 1-0 record and an ERA of 0.81 in 22.1 innings pitched.

Ryo Negishi- Right Pitcher (Japan)

Negishi is the Middle Eastern quota for the Caymans, with a pitch repertoire that includes fastball, curveball, splitter and slider. In his homeland he played with the Ibaraki Astro Planets team and stood out on the Oberlin University-JFE West Japan team.

Pabel Manzanero- Receiver (Venezuela)

Manzanero was already in the league with Vaqueros de Montería, joined Caimanes in the Baseball Champions League and will continue for the regular season. In the previous season, he had an AVG of .308, with 38 RBIs and 19 runs scored, the product of 45 hits, 10 of them doubles and 7 home runs.

Jax Biggers- Infielder (United States)

Biggers comes from the Texas Rangers organization, with whom he has been since 2017, where he has reached the AAA classification of the Minor Leagues. It is his first time in Colombia.

Manny Boscán- Infielder (Venezuela)

It will be his first experience with the Caimanes, he was recruited into the Baseball Champions League, where he won and was on the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks champion team of the American Association.

Ricardo Cespedes- Gardener (Dominican Republic- United States)

Cespedes covers the three outfield positions, he had experience in the Minor Leagues where he reached the strong A category, he comes from playing in the Atlantic League for Staten Island.

It is expected for the full roster that will seek to achieve the title of Colombian professional baseball for the reptiles.
