A basket from La Linense Lourdes Pérez (CAB Estepona) with four seconds left on Sunday allowed the Cádiz cadet women’s basketball team to hang the bronze medal of the Andalusian Championship of the category that was held in the Granada towns of Almuñécar and La Herradura. Also in that team were the player Lola Hidalgo and the coach Silvia Patricolo, both from the City of Algeciras. Cádiz beat Almería 70-71 in the consolation final.
The team of Pérez (created in the Linense Basketball Union -ULB-), Hidalgo and Patricolo finished in second position the initial phase, after beating Huelva (76-54) and Sevilla (66-62) and falling to Córdoba (76-52), which was the best in this group II.
That second place opened the door to the fight for the medals, in which, with important collaboration of the players from Campo de Gibraltar, Cádiz won the bronze.
The title went to Málaga, which defeated Córdoba (67-63), while fifth place was achieved Huelva, after beating Granada (75-70). Sevilla took seventh position by surpassing Jaen (77-34) in a game without history.
This Monday La Andaluza announced the composition of the autonomous female cadet selection who will dispute the Spain Championshipbased in Huelva. This team will not have representation of the region on the track.
