Burned out by a coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts, she gets a real jackpot!

The customer was burned by spilled hot coffee in February 2021. Aged 70 at the time, she suffered second and third degree burns to her thighs, groin and abdomen. His legal team claims the cup lid was loose.

The 70-year-old woman then had to undergo major skin grafts and spent weeks in hospital in the burn unit. Her medical bills totaled more than $200,000 and she is now unable to walk without pain. On Tuesday, the court ruled and the Dunkin’Donuts brand was ordered to pay the woman around $3 million.

A similar lawsuit was recently filed against McDonald’s. A San Francisco woman whose hot coffee spilled due to a loose lid was seriously injured.
