Bourg wins against Gravelines in Betclic Elite

JL Bourg inflicted a fourth defeat on BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque (90-82) on Saturday at the opening of the 4th day of Betclic Élite.

The Northerners never had the reins of the match and were even quickly on the ropes since they were trailing 21-9 after ten minutes and twenty lengths in the second quarter (51-37 at the break).

Laurent Legname’s men presented a better copy in the second half and even took advantage of the opposing difficulties at the pivot position, without Bodian Massa or Kevin Kokila, to get closer to five units (80-75) but negotiated poorly the last two minutes.

Zacharie Risacher in the spotlight

Bourg, appealing a defeat in Blois (102-93) on Tuesday, pockets a third success in four matches. Winger from Asvel Zaccharie Risacher (18), struggling in Loir-et-Cher, delivered the best Betclic Elite game of his young career with 18 points and 6 rebounds.

At the end of the match, the Bressan club celebrated its former coach and sports director Frédéric Sarre (62), now retired.

Sarre puts an end to a long professional career, which began in Limoges and was punctuated, among others, by a hat-trick (French Championship, Coupe de France, Semaine des As) as head coach, at Pau-Orthez in 2003, and two accessions to Pro A with Limoges in 2012 and Bourg in 2014.
