Berlin District Court imposes 450,000 euro fine on Alexander Zverev for alleged assault on ex-girlfriend

A fine of 450,000 euros was imposed on Alexander Zverev by the Berlin district court.

There is a case against the 2021 Olympic champion for physically injuring his ex-girlfriend in an argument.

Zverev’s lawyers rejected the accusation in a statement and filed an objection. The tennis professional wants to “take all possible action against the penalty order”.

“Until a final conviction is made, the presumption of innocence applies. Only the court decides on the criminal conviction in a procedure regulated by the Code of Criminal Procedure,” says the district court.
