Sport and inclusion were the protagonists of a press conference which saw local and national institutional figures from Olympic and Paralympic sports discuss. The meeting, which took place yesterday in Milan, at the Cariplo Foundation, was the opportunity to officially launch the event WEmbrace Sport 2023which will be held on Monday 16 October from 7.30 pm at the Allianz Cloud in Milan and during which the public will have the opportunity to see for the first time in Italy the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic mascot.
During the meeting, moderated by the journalist and TV presenter Valeria Ciardiellothey spoke Giovanni AzzonePresident of the Cariplo Foundation, Maurizio MolinariHead of the European Parliament Office in Milan, Head of Media for the European Parliament in Italy, Teresa GrandisPresident of the art4sport ONLUS Association, e François Bonet, Consul General of France in Milan. Then they intervened Beatrice “Bebe” Vio Grandisparalympic foil champion, Luca PancalliPresident of the Italian Paralympic Committee, and the Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli who sent a video message of support for the initiative.

This year’s edition will host an exciting Italy-France match, as a tribute to the upcoming ones Paris 2024 Olympics. The event will be presented by a couple of hosts made up of Ilaria D’Amicojournalist and television presenter, and from Gianluca Gazzoli, podcaster, creator and radio and TV host. The direction will be handled by Mauro Dell’Oliodirector and speaker with long experience in the sporting events sector.
The Italian athletes will compete against the French in four different Paralympic sports disciplines, fencing in a wheelchair, football amputees, sitting volley e wheelchair basketball, in a meeting-confrontation between the Olympic and Paralympic worlds. WEmbrace Sport is in fact the event designed and created to demonstrate that integrated sport is a concrete objective and is also capable of maintaining the level of professionalism and competitiveness of the Olympic context.
The proceeds of the evening will be donated toart4sport ONLUS Association, which since its inception has followed and supported children and young people with prosthetic limbs. The objective is therefore to provide concrete help in practicing sports through the purchase of prostheses, wheelchairs and sports aids.

We will have the opportunity to compete in a series of disciplines declined in a Paralympic version, we will all be in the same conditions and this eliminates the very concept of ‘disability’. It will therefore be an event in which high-level professional athletes will give life to a unique show, which we can’t wait to experience together with the public.”
