Asvel confirms having suffered a cyber attack

The Lyon-Villeurbanne basketball club (Asvel) confirmed on Monday that it had been the victim of a cyberattack, of which it was alerted through the press on October 12, and will file a complaint. Asvel has also made a notification of a personal data breach to the National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties (CNIL) and will file a complaint with the competent state services.

“The club, which had not detected anything until then, contacted companies specializing in the field of cybersecurity who assured it that its computer system had indeed been the victim of a breach, with exfiltration of data,” the club wrote in a press release.

No stolen payment methods

Asvel has not yet determined the nature of the stolen information, even if the club assured that “the original data has not been altered or erased” and that to its knowledge, “no means of payment (RIB or bank card) has been stolen. “The attack suffered today did not result in a cessation of activity and the nature and extent of the damage to third parties is being determined with the help of qualified professionals and State services. relevant,” insists the club chaired by Tony Parker, also owner.
