AMLO arrives in Guerrero to coordinate relief work for victims of Hurricane Otis – El Sol de México

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador traveled this Wednesday to the State of Guerrero to lead the efforts to help victims of Hurricane Otis.

During his journey, the president made a stop in Tierra Colorada, municipality of Juan R. Escudero, to receive a report from his Security Cabinet in which he was told that there were three major landslides in the region.

The president left the National Palace this Wednesday at noon in a van to go to Guerrero. During his morning conference he reported that Hurricane Otis “hit very hard” on Tuesday night and left the Guerrero Coast cut off.

“The hurricane did hit very hard in Guerrero, on the Costa Grande, in Acapulco, in Tecpan, in the entire stretch from Tecpan to Acapulco, Coyuca de Benítez, Juárez and other municipalities, Atoyac, those that are in that strip and it is still affecting the hurricane, communications have been completely lost and the general secretary, the secretary of the Navy, the secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, the secretary of Communications and Transportation, the director of Civil Protection are leaving,” the president said at the beginning from his press conference this Wednesday.
