The two-time world champion with the United States Megan Rapinoe took another step towards retirement by playing her last game of the NWSL regular season yesterday at Lumen Field, home of her team, Ol Reig. In front of more than 34,130 people, Ol Reig tied without goals with the Washington Spirit and paid tribute to the player under the name of Forever Reig: A Celebration of Megan. The midfielder’s last game of the campaign will be on October 15 at the home of the Chicago Red Stars, although both she and her club are looking to advance to the playoffs.
