Alhama de Murcia Celebrates Patroness of the Civil Guard with Mass and Tribute to the Flag

Like every October 12, the Day of Hispanic Heritage and the Virgin of Pilar, Alhama de Murcia has celebrated the Patroness of the Civil Guard with a mass and a tribute to the flag in the church of San Lázaro Obispo.

The mass was officiated by the parish priest Ismael Sánchez, accompanied by the parish priest of the Concepción church, Francisco Valero, in a temple full of faithful.

A large representation of the Civil Guard from the Alhama Post was present at the Eucharist supported by Alhama, Librilla and regional authorities. The mayor of Alhama, María Cánovas, the librillana councilor, Leonor Hernández, the regional deputy Alfonso Fernando Cerón, the regional deputy Magdalena Sánchez Blesa, the head of the Civil Guard post, Santiago Hernández, State Security Corps and Armed Forces, in addition to the councilors of the Municipal Corporation of Alhama and Librilla from PP, PSOE and Izquierda Unida.

After the mass, everyone moved to the atrium of the church where the tribute to the flag was performed, with the musical accompaniment of the José Antonio Ayala AMC Head Band, as well as the offering to the fallen for the Homeland. The event ended with the anthem of the Civil Guard and the applause of the public present.
