Why Hans Niemann can’t get rid of the fraud allegations

Magnus Carlsen would now compete against him again. Chess.com, one of the world’s largest chess servers, has reactivated his account. Hans Niemann did not receive an apology for the fraud allegations against him. The best chess player and the largest chess company in the world will not pay him compensation – his lawyers demanded $100 million. Nevertheless, the 20-year-old American agreed to the agreement. Better than nothing.

On September 5, 2022, Carlsen lost to him at the Sinquefield Cup in Saint Louis and withdrew from the tournament the next day. The Norwegian, who was still world champion at the time, later gave up an online game against him on the second move and explained that Niemann had cheated more often than the two times in online chess that he admitted.
