Vito van Crooij Joins Al-Wehda in Saudi Arabia: The Latest Move in the Summer Transfer Season

Vito van Crooij makes the switch from Sparta to Al-Wehda in Saudi Arabia. The Rotterdam club has confirmed this.

The transfer of the Venlo native had been in the air for some time. Van Crooij previously indicated that he wanted to leave Sparta this summer. He played there for two seasons and last year he scored fourteen goals and twelve assists.

Al-Wehda

Van Crooij previously played for VVV for two periods and also played for PEC Zwolle in between. The 27-year-old attacker leaves for Saudi Arabia in a summer in which many top players opt for lucrative contracts with clubs in that competition. At Al-Wehda from Mecca, mainly players from their own country play. Van Crooij also meets Nigerian attacker Odion Ighalo and Spanish goalkeeper Munir, among others.
