Valentinois Olympic Shooting Club Inaugurates New High-Level Shooting Range in Drôme

Located at 60 Allée James Joule (Auréats zone) and inaugurated on Saturday September 23, 2023 in the presence of numerous municipal and departmental elected officials, nearly 150 Valentinois Olympic Shooting licensees, representatives of the Valentinois and Drômois sporting world but also members of the federal Olympic shooting authorities, This new sports equipment complements quality and high-level infrastructure in the Drôme prefecture.

While the old shooting range was located in the basement of the Bayet school – whose rehabilitation work will begin in 2024, the Municipality was committed to building a new shooting center. A new location was therefore designed to build a shooting range worthy of the name.

It is now a reality: the 300 members of the Tir Olympique Valentinois are located in the Auréats zone – in the immediate vicinity of the Cité de l’Escalade inaugurated last year and not far from the Jean-Marc Abattu sports complex dedicated to pétanque and archery –, modern equipment, adapted to the practice of athletes, in particular the most efficientincluding a 2023 French champion in the person of Jérémy Clozel, a graduate from Valentin (shooting with a semi-automatic 22 rifle).

The cost of the work is €454,000 including tax (including 30% amortized over 20 years thanks to the rents from the Tir Olympique Valentinois collected by the City).
