Spain recorded a very convincing 1-7 victory against Georgia in the European Championship qualifying on Friday evening. Top talent Lamine Yamal wrote history by becoming the youngest debutant and goalscorer ever for the Spanish team.
The young FC Barcelona winger is only sixteen years and 56 days old. The old record was held by Gavi, who also played, who made his debut when he was seventeen years and 62 days old. Yamal came on against Georgia as a replacement for the injured Marco Asensio after 44 minutes.
Yamal made a dream debut by scoring his first ever goal for Spain in the 74th minute. The wing flasher received the ball from the left by Nico Williams, after which he curled the ball with his left into the top corner. That meant the 1-7 for the team of national coach Luis de la Fuente.

Spain rolls over Georgia, hat trick Morata
The Spaniards, who could not train yesterday because the football boots and balls were left behind in Madrid, were much better than a weak defending Georgia throughout the match. Spain continued to attack happily and scored three more. Morata completed his hat-trick after 66 minutes with a diagonal shot. Williams finished two minutes later with a beautiful solo. And Yamal set the final score at 1-7 with his striking shot.
Thanks to the victory, Spain recovered from the defeat in the European Championship qualifying match with Scotland (2-0). De la Fuente’s team has six points in group A after three matches. The gap to leader Scotland is six points.
