Leylah Fernandez ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆย vs Sofia Kenin ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ : 4/6 7/6 1/6

For the first time since 2019, the American climbed into the final four of a WTA 1000. Having fallen to 419th place in the world in 2022, Kenin struggled, doubted and above all worked to regain her tennis and her confidence. Her success allows her to return, at a minimum, to 31st place in the WTA.

Victoria Azarenka ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡พ vs Carolina Garcia ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท : 3/6 4/6

So many good reasons to smile after this victory obtained by saving 11 break points against her, solid.

Emiliana Arango ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด vs Maria Sakkari ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท : 3/6 4/6

Disappointed after the US Open, like her future opponent, the Greek player regains color and puts an end to the sensation of the tournament.

Friday September 22, the 1/2 finals

Caroline Dolehide ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ vs Sofia Kenin ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ : 7/5 6/3

The dream week continues for the 111th in the world who offers her first final on the circuit and not just any final. She also becomes the 2nd lowest ranked player to reach the final of a WTA 1000, since 2009.

Trailing 4/2 in the initial round, Dolehide then found the right tactic against Kenin who increased the number of mistakes in frustration.

Carolina Garcia ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท vs Maria Sakkari ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท : 3/6 0/6

There was no photo between the Greek and the French in this semi-final. Already a finalist here last season, Sakkari felt “like at home” and Garcia quickly understood this.

Broken from the start of the match, she will take more and more risks and make more and more mistakes.
