The national team took the lead in the bottom of the second inning on pitches from Nicolas Antoine. First, Martin Mužík got to second base, and then Dubové’s two-run home run cheered up the packed arena in Brno. Chadim’s selection continued to present itself with reliable defense and increased the lead in the third inning. Matěj Menšík, Červenka, Vojtěch Menšík finished for more points and the Czechs gained a lead of five points.
Antoine was replaced on the mound by Franklin de la Rosa, but he didn’t last long on the field either. In the fourth inning, Červenka flashed with a long home run, he also took out Eric Sogard and Matěj Menšík, and the Czechs headed for victory with an eight-point lead.
