After the sensational World Cup win, basketball is on everyone’s lips in Germany. Nevertheless, the Bundesliga will forego an Allstar Day in the season that begins today, which has always been used to advertise the sport in the past. “Allstar Day is always a topic. “Unfortunately we don’t have an appointment,” said BBL managing director Stefan Holz.

“It’s with a very heavy heart that we can’t manage it right now, but we’re trying to accommodate the elements somewhere else,” said Holz, referring to the three-point and dunking contests that are popular with fans. “In the near future, we will encounter these things again at some point,” announced Holz.

Allstar Day was an integral part of the basketball season for years. In previous seasons, the event, which always featured an exhibition game by the league’s best professionals, no longer took place due to scheduling reasons. Above all, the expansion of the European Cup competitions means that there is no good time for the event.
