Talleres and Instituto Play to a Goalless Draw in League Cup Match

Talleres and Instituto ended up drawing 0-0 this Saturday in a match of few ideas and a lot of fight at the Mario Alberto Kempes, for the fourth date of Zone A of the League Cup.

The Matador did not shine in front of their fans, while the Gloria played an intelligent game to add a point that is always important in their desire to maintain the category.

For the fifth date, Talleres will visit Argentinos on Thursday the 21st at 7:15 p.m., while Instituto will be local to Colón, on Wednesday at 9 p.m.

The “T” was in third place with seven points, while the Albirrojo has 5 units.

The match

From the start the match at the Kempes was played with the drive and atmosphere generated by both fans.

The first minutes showed a snapshot of the game that could come: Workshops with the ball and the field at their disposal, with an Institute willing to recover and come out quickly on the counter to surprise.

Dabove played hide and seek until the last moment and came out with a 5-4-1 formation with an unprecedented line of five defenders.

Furthermore, with the headline presence of Leonel Mosevich and Jonathan Bay, the most striking name since he had been declared expendable at the beginning of the transfer market.

The local team was betting on its usual game, with Garro leading and the offensive trident of Sosa, Depietri and Bustos.

The first 15 minutes had practically no serious shots on goal. Both Herrera and Roffo were luxury spectators of the match.

El Albirrojo tried to close all the roads and El Matador could not get the round to reach Garro clearly, so that he could be the handle.

Instituto tried to propose an uncomfortable match to Talleres and a long one. With a 0-0 that lasted as many minutes as possible.

At 20 minutes the first controversy arrived: a long ball found Benavídez in attack. The “T” side couldn’t reach the ball and defender Alarcón threw himself to the ground.

The entire stadium asked for a penalty and Judge Falcón Pérez decided to charge it. Then, he went to check it in the VAR booth and decided to back off.

In a match that boasted of “details,” that could have been one of those that changed history. But, precisely, the judge did not sanction him.

La Gloria began to get a little more excited and was betting on a corner or a stopped ball that would give her a chance.

The end of the first half showed a better Instituto, which came close on a couple of occasions and seemed to have the game where it wanted.

That forced Guido Herrera himself to decide to “cool down” the match with his classic trick of lying on the floor for a couple of minutes.

Thus, he lowered the revs and tried to organize his team on the way to halftime.

The 0-0 with which the first stage ended could also describe a poor game, very frictional, in which everyone adjusted their care to the maximum.

Everything was left open for a second stage where more emotions were expected. Or, at least, a little more daring to break the mold.

THE SECOND TIME

For the complement, Gandolfi decided to make a change and Nicolás Vallejos entered instead of a dull Depietri.

Instituto continued with the same momentum with which it had ended the first half: getting excited and putting more people in the offensive zone.

The minutes were ticking and the “T” was still unable to get an accurate shot on goal that would force Roffo to demand himself.

And beyond the clear dominance of possession (at times it was 65% against 35%), it lacked punch.

About 20 minutes in, Dabove changed the plan again and now went out to look for it a little more, at least from the names.

He made three changes together: Graciani, the Ecuadorian Reasco and Brahian Cuello entered, three offensive players.

Minutes before, Talleres had approached with a powerful shot from outside by Riveros, a weapon that was valid in the absence of play.

The final 15 minutes of the game found both teams with fewer legs but more space.

And it felt like it could belong to anyone. The one who was encouraged or the one who took advantage of a slight mistake from the rival.

The end of the match was less clear for both teams, which gave in to a 0-0 that became irreversible and immovable. That didn’t hurt anyone. It joined and continues.
