Last week, Bleacher Report delivered its Top 100 NBA players for the 2023-24 season. The podium was made up of Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic. Unsurprisingly, the ranking generated its share of debate and criticism. So, Bleacher Report surveyed its readers to see to what extent the “fans” had a different opinion from the “analysts”.
All these classifications are of course debatable. But the advantage of this one is, with nearly 500,000 votes (spread over a multitude of questions), that it makes it possible to clearly identify what the “mass” thinks.
And obviously there are some notable differences. Starting with Nikola Jokic, whom they rank 4th where Bleacher Report (like many others) saw him as the number 1 in the NBA. Surprisingly enough, he’s not even in the Top 3. Dirty-faced offence? Perhaps when we know that in the game of “anonymous” comparisons of stats, it is widely unanimous:

Other notable disagreements, the places of Stephen Curry and Anthony Edwards. Fans give them far more credit as they rank them 3rd and 10th respectively. Bleacher Report journalists placed them 6th and 15th.
On the other hand, we may be surprised at the ranking of LeBron James. We imagined the amateurs, necessarily marked by the memories he left them, more inclined to rank him a little higher than his ninth place.
