john solis has become one of the bets of the Girona in this summer transfer market. The 18-year-old Colombian midfielder makes the jump to European football with the approval of City Football Group after excelling in theNational Athletic, his home club. In an interview with the club’s media, the player explained how his origins were and what his challenges are in the new stage at Montilivi.
THE BEGINNINGS
“I learned in Carrer de Guacarí (Colombia), playing with the ball around the neighborhood. We had fun there when we were little and it was where I discovered my passion for football. At 14 I signed for Atlético Nacional, I was a boy new, from the village, coming to a big and important city in Colombia to develop my career as a footballer. The club helped me a lot, giving me the opportunity to grow step by step until I made my debut in the first team I played important matches: league classics, the Libertadores…”.
THE GIRONA
“I’m very happy to be at Girona. It’s what I dreamed of and it makes me proud. I want more, to work as hard as I’ve always done so that opportunities keep coming to me.”
THE ADAPTATION
“The adaptation is simple because of the climate and the language. The rhythm of the game has to be worked on in the field because it is a little more intense and different. Here everyone understands it. In Colombia there are very talented players, but there is a lack improve to understand the game.”

“I’m a player who likes to have the ball and go forward, looking for solutions to make my teammates more comfortable. I like to go forward and face the opponent.”
