Surprising new coaches, historic runners-up and the victory of love… What to remember from this week 3 in the NFL

The new coaches surprise

This year, the NFL has three new head coaches who have never had this position before. Jonathan Gannon with the Cardinals, DeMeco Ryans with the Texans and Shane Steichen with the Colts. The three newbies were promised “hell” with probably what were like three of the weakest and youngest squads in the league. Except that…

Except that after three weeks, the three men can be proud of their accomplishments. Sure, they’ve lost games, but the Cardinals beat the Cowboys and are much more eye-catching than expected, especially on defense, the Colts took on the Ravens and Steichen is bringing this offense to life; the Texans are already managing to show the talent of their rookie quarterback and Ryans’ imprint on defense is felt.

After three weeks, it’s much more positive than expected. Hopefully it lasts!

CJ Stroud is the best quarterback of the 2023 vintage

He was not the first choice in the Draft, but CJ Stroud is making a more convincing debut than Bryce Young for the moment. On Sunday, the Texans quarterback earned his first victory in convincing fashion, throwing two touchdowns and no interceptions against the Jaguars.

Stroud still hasn’t thrown an interception after three weeks of competition. He completed 64.5% of his passes. His rating of 98.0 is much higher than Young’s (66.6).

After two years of uncertainty, Houston seems to have found a franchise quarterback.

Miami has the best offense in the league

We thought we were bold by putting Miami in 6th offense in the league in our pre-season attack rankings… It turns out we were cowardly!

The Dolphins offense is simply fantastic and the best in the league at the start of the season. 130 points scored in 3 games and a historic victory this Sunday against the Broncos with 70 points scored! We knew Tyreek Hill was excellent (already 225 yards and 3TD this year) but it’s everything else that takes this attack to the next level.

Tua Tagovailoa (1024 yards and 8 touchdowns thrown) is as precise as ever. He can also count on a ground game that takes on a new dimension and a brilliant Mike McDaniels in the playbook.

You understand why the Saints went for Derek Carr

Yes, Derek Carr is not the most exciting quarterback in the league, yes, he does not have the talent of the best… But Derek Carr limits stupid mistakes at the quarterback position. What Jameis Winston did not do once again, largely responsible for his team’s defeat this weekend.

Going for Derek Carr was a good idea.

Sean Payton, backlash

We know, Sean Payton likes to talk. Sometimes it’s interesting and sometimes it can seem like a bit of arrogance. So obviously when the veteran coach arrives in Denver, after a disappointing season, and declares: “Nathaniel Hackett did one of the worst coaching jobs in history”… We read, we say to ourselves that it is not false, but that it is “bold” before even having set foot on the ground.

Result ? An attack that isn’t really progressing, a worse defense and a historic defeat this Sunday… That’s what we call a backlash.

Zach Wilson cannot remain a starter…

Another heartbreaking defeat for the Jets and once again all eyes can turn to Zach Wilson. The quarterback multiplied imprecise passes, bad reads and let Garrett Wilson lose a year of life waiting for the ball alone…

Not helped by poor play calling, Zach Wilson is still a bad quarterback. We knew it, you knew it, but some still wanted to believe it. Unfortunately for fans, Robert Saleh doesn’t seem to want to get out of this situation.

Love gives wings

The NFL is also stars like Taylor Swift, glamour, glitter and love. be happy
