Stage 11 of the Vuelta a España 2023: route, profile and today’s schedule

The tenth stage of the 78 Tour of Spain will take place this Wednesday on the way to La Laguna Negra in Soriana with a classic ‘one-port’ stage, in which the peloton will have their sights set a little further before facing two of the stages considered key in the itinerary of the race, those of the French Pyrenees.

the eleventh stage will take the peloton from Burgos Lerma to the town of Vinuesa with the final ascent to La Laguna Negra with a 163.2-kilometer route, in which the peloton will almost always ride close to 1,000 meters of altitude, but without significant unevenness.

With the classification a little more clarified after the 25.8 kilometer time trial in Valladolid, all the teams with a candidate for the final victory can now begin to make a composition of their situation to determine the movements they will make in the coming days.

The Laguna Negra hosted for the first time a stage finish of the Return in the 2020 edition, marked by the pandemic of the coronavirus and without an audience in the gutters, so this will be the first time that the cyclists will be able to count on the encouragement of the fans.

In 2020 the Irishman Dan Martin, already retired, prevailed, and in the first positions were a good part of the cyclists who are now fighting for the red. On that occasion, with a more ascending profile than on this occasion, they barely marked significant differences.

It will be necessary to see if on this day the teams of the leaders give some leeway to the riders who go out to fight for the stage or the control they exercise causes a punishment prior to the final ascent.

The American Sepp Kuss (Jumbo-Visma) arrives as the leader at this stage with a 26-second advantage over the Spanish Marc Soler (UAE Emirates) and 1:09 over the Belgian Remco Evenpoel (Soudal-Quick Step) who opens the main group applicants like Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) or Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) among others.
