This Tuesday afternoon, the Santa Eulària des Riu City Council awarded recognition to seven athletes who have recently managed to place themselves among the best in their disciplines in national and European championships. The mayor, Carmen Ferrer; and the Councilor for Sports, Antoni Ramon, presented these awards to athletes in specialties such as swimming, windsurfing, beach tennis, judo and athletics. Among the honored athletes, Dani Planells stands out, who a few weeks ago won bronze in the European Athletics Championships for the Deaf in the 10,000 meters.
The City Council awarded five plaques to two athletes, which was the first time they had received similar recognition for their achievements in national, European or international championships. Likewise, he also gave two vouchers for a dinner for two people at a restaurant in the municipality for the two competitors who had already been worthy of this type of recognition previously.
Thus, plaques were delivered to:
Nara Heins Guasch, Spanish Champion of Windsurfing Tech under-17.
Umi Cristian Pérez Ota, payment in the Spanish Alevín Swimming Championships, 400 m. styles; and bronze in 200 m. styles.
Adriana Ferrer López, bronze in the last Spanish School Age Judo Championship.
Maria Torres Planells, bronze in the Spanish Alevín Swimming Championship, 100 m category. butterfly.
Gonzalo Fernández San Martín, bronze in the Spanish Championship of American Billiards Autonomous Teams.
For their part, they received a voucher for a dinner for two people at a restaurant in the municipality:
Daniel Panells Serra, bronze at the European Athletics Championships for the Deaf, distance 10,000 m.
Sebastián Insúa Trabadello, gold in the Spanish Beach Tennis Championship, veteran categories +30 and +40.
