Reyer Venezia Triumphs in IV Piero Breveglieri Memorial Basketball Tournament

The “IV Piero Breveglieri Memorial” concluded with the success of Reyer Venezia in the final against Fortitudo Academy Bologna, held at PalaVigarano on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September, organized by Matilde Basket Bondeno, with the patronage of the Municipality of Bondeno and the support of project by Bper Banca, Avis Bondeno, Salvi Vivai and Officina Design Cafè. The tournament saw the presence of the Under 19 teams of Virtus Bologna, Pallacanestro Reggiana and precisely Reyer Venezia and Fortitudo Academy Bologna.

The final for 1st-2nd place between the Venetians and the Bolognese was very balanced, with the two teams overtaking each other several times in terms of scoring within the match. In the end it was Reyer who celebrated, winning with a score of 64-60 over Fortitudo Academy.

In the final for 3rd-4th place, the success of Pallacanestro Reggiana was clearer, beating Virtus Bologna with a score of 89-61. In the semi-finals, played on Saturday, Fortitudo Academy came back from Pallacanestro Reggiana with a result of 87-79, while Reyer Venezia had

beat Virtus Bologna 88-61. A tournament with high technical content, given the absolute level of the four participants, but above all in the name of solidarity, with the entire proceeds going to the “Together is More Facile” Association, founded by Piero Breveglieri, a great fan of sports and especially basketball, in 2015.

The association works to support disabled, elderly, lonely and disadvantaged people. Giulia Breveglieri, Piero’s sister, was also present at the quadrangle and during the final awards ceremony, representing “Together is More Facile”; in addition to Giulia, those who spoke were Ornella Bonati, Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Bondeno, Luca Palazzi, vice-president of Avis Bondeno, Alessandro Frabetti, director of the Bper branch of Bondeno, Giorgio Bianchi, provincial delegate of Fip, Marco Bonfiglioli, partner of Officina Design Cafè, sponsor of the tournament, Maria Cristina Aleotti, president of Matilde Basket Bondeno and Giacomo Rizzatti, sporting director of Matilde Basket.
