Reinbacher makes his debut on Montreal’s rookie team

Young ice hockey professional David Reinbacher played for the Montreal Canadiens for the first time in preparation for the new NHL season. In a 3:6 defeat against the Buffalo Sabers as part of the so-called “Prospects Challenge” on Friday (local time), the 18-year-old was part of the “Habs” team, which was only made up of young talent. “It’s a huge honor to put on the ‘Habs’ jersey,” said the defender after his first game.

“It’s played hard, it’s about their jobs. This isn’t skating around outdoors on a Sunday,” added Reinbacher, who was drafted fifth in the NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens in June. In the previous season, the Vorarlberg native played for EHC Kloten in Switzerland and flashed his talent in the uniform of the Austrian national team at the World Cup in Finland.
