It’s official: Paris-Saint-Germain has announced the transfer of Marco Verratti to the Qatari club, Al-Arabi. The player from Abruzzo, a mainstay of PSG and also of the Italian national team, landed in Doha yesterday to undergo medical examinations. After eleven years in PSG, the player from Pescara therefore moved to Qatar: according to the transalpine press, the thirty-year-old midfielder adored by Parisian fans was not part of the strategy of the new coach, Luis Enrique. Verratti “played a very important role in our great history”, said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in a statement.
