PSG Loans Kang In Lee for Asian Games to Avoid Mandatory Military Service

When the PSG signed Kang In Lee for 22 million euros, I already knew that this month of September would be atypical for both parties. And now, as ‘Le Parisien’ confirms, The French club has loaned the former Mallorca winger for the Asian Games that will begin this September 23. The idea is to avoid the 21 months of mandatory military service that exist in South Korea… but it won’t be enough for Kang In to attend.

In fact, the only way to avoid them is to achieve a sporting feat that consists of directly winning said Games. Heung Min Son did it in 2018 and he cried his eyes out after lifting the trophy, knowing that he was avoiding the South Korean military. And the gold in the Asian Games or the Olympic metal are the only ways to skip this national obligation.

While, PSG is still waiting for the best version of Kang In. He has barely played two games as an injury has prevented him from continuing to add minutes. Furthermore, the arrival of Dembélé and Kolo Muani in the final stretch of the market takes away his prominence.

His departure to the Asian Games will force him to miss the second match of the Champions League against Newcastle (October 4), as well as the visit to Marseille (September 24). This weekend he is not in the squad either (he is not 100% recovered) and it remains to be seen if he will play in the first Champions League matchday next week.
