The start of the Champions League season is slowly approaching, and the group phase will soon start for Borussia Dortmund as well. But against whom and when do the Black and Yellows have to compete? And who will broadcast the games live on TV and live stream? SPOX provides you with the answers.
The 32 participants in the Champions League group stage have finally been determined since the last playoff second leg last Wednesday. Germany’s runner-up Borussia Dortmund is also in the fight for the prestigious handle pot. Since the draw last Thursday, it has also already been decided against whom the black and yellow will play in the group – and the opponents are tough.

BVB caught a death group in the draw. The French champions Paris Saint-Germain were added from pot 1, the Italian champions of 2021/22 AC Milan from pot three and Premier League top club Newcastle United from pot four. Together with Dortmund, the four teams form Group F, which starts for BVB against PSG on September 19th.

DAZN and Amazon Prime will broadcast the premier class games this season. The distribution of the games is anything but even: Amazon Prime has 16 games on offer – from qualification to the semifinals – while DAZN takes on the rest, 121 games. In addition, it should not be forgotten that Amazon Prime is only in use on Tuesdays. BVB’s three Wednesday games can therefore definitely be seen on DAZN.
For the three Tuesday games, it is not yet clear which of the two providers will broadcast BVB’s games. However, Amazon Prime prefers games with German participation in its selection as long as BVB, FC Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Union Berlin are still in the competition.
The Champions League games are behind a subscription barrier on both DAZN and Amazon Prime. If you want to access the games broadcast by DAZN, you need the DAZN Unlimited package, which costs EUR 29.99 per month for an annual subscription and EUR 44.99 for a monthly subscription. The costs for the Amazon Prime subscription are 8.99 euros per month and 89.90 per year.
