Olympic Medalist Yanet Bermoy Acosta Leads Intensive Judo Training in Mexico

Yanet Bermoy Acosta, who was an Olympic medalist, world champion and is a reference for that sport in Cuba, yesterday offered intensive training to 49 judokas from Yucatán, Chiapas and Mexico City at the “Socorro Cerón Herrera” Multigymnasium of the Kukulcán Sports Complex.

As part of a camp that began last September 20, massive training was carried out yesterday and the activities will culminate today.

Among the athletes who took part in the course were selected Yucatecan medalists from the Conade National Games, as well as the main exponents of other entities in the southeast.

The director of the Yucatan Sports Institute, Carlos Sáenz Castillo, received the former Cuban athlete, accompanied by Iván Ramírez Medel, president of the Yucatecan Judo Association, and coach Reidel Alonzo Rodríguez, expressing support for this discipline in the entity.

Yanet Bermoy was a silver medalist at the Beijing and London Olympic Games, champion at the Pan American Games in 2007 and 2011, first place at the 2005 World Championships and winner of the World Cups in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012.
