Olympic Judo Champion Amandine Buchard Inaugurates New Dojo in L’Huisserie

Work began in April 2023. The new dojo (equipment dedicated to the practice of martial arts) in L’Huisserie (Mayenne) was inaugurated on Saturday September 9, 2023 by Olympic judo champion Amandine Buchard. She gave her name to this new sports equipment.

“An excellent work tool”

Located in the heart of the sports complex, and born under the leadership of the French Judo Federation, the departmental council of Mayenne, the municipality and the judo club, this new place reveals a space of 200 m² (instead of 120 m² previously), white walls, LED lighting, new boxes, a black and white photo of Jigor Kan, the father of judo, surrounded by the 8 values ​​of judo such as respect or politeness and a royal blue tatami . “ It is an excellent work tool. It’s made of foam underneath. For falls, it hurts less. Before, we put mats with holes and it was dangerous for the toes and ankles. », analyzes with a smile Christophe Dutertre, black belt and teacher for 5 years.

“We hope to reach 100 licensees”

Created in 2017, with 35 children in particular, the club has 66 members. “ With this new dojo we hope to reach 100 licensees and progress sportingly », Explains Philippe Rayniere, the president of the club.

This ambitious project, which integrates the plan of 1,000 solidarity dojos, is intended “accessible to all, intergenerational and social. This room will welcome those who practice judo, but also Le voviman, the leisure gym and the two schools”adds Mayor Jean Pierre Thiot.

This equipment cost €76,193 including tax. If it is 80% financed by the National Sports Agency for the benefit of the French Judo Federation, 7% is the responsibility of the municipality and €10,000 is covered by the departmental council.
