The Serbian, winner of the US Open should, according to his coach, take a break after the Davis Cup. If he skipped the Asian tour, the Serbian would not be guaranteed to finish world No. 1 at the end of the season.
In an interview with the Serbian media Sportklub and comments reported by Eurosport, Goran Ivanisevic, after the success of Novak Djokovic at the US Open, suggested that the Serbian could, for the first time since 2019, ignore the Asian tour (Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo): “ He should rest and recharge. In the meantime, Novak Djokovic should participate in the Davis Cup with Serbia, in Malaga. Expected on Wednesday, he could be lined up against Spain on Friday, then the Czech Republic on Saturday.
