NFL Injuries Update: Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, and Odell Beckham Jr. Among Top Players Sidelined

The NFL is one of the sports organizations where the most and most serious injuries occur in each event that is held. In a very injurious and physically demanding sport, it is very common to see bumps, breaks, sprains or overloads in any of the athletes participating in the match.

After two weeks of the regular season in the NFL, the infirmaries begin to fill with players with more serious discomfort or physical problems. In fact, in the opening week, the league already lost one of its biggest stars for the entire season: Aaron Rodgers.

With two games left to play, two new top-level players have fallen due to injury. In neither case is the extent of this known, so we will have to wait for new medical reports to know the length of time these league stars will be out.

The most notable injuries

Aaron Rodgers

The Jets have notably fallen in the favorite pools after only 94 seconds of the regular season. This is the time it took for Aaron Rodgers to have to leave the field with one of the toughest injuries an active athlete can experience: a ruptured Achilles tendon.

The veteran quarterback, who had signed a contract that exceeded $75 million, underwent successful surgery just one day after the injury. In his first appearance after the intervention, Rodgers promised to return to the competition in the best possible way.

The Bengals quarterback worries. Burrow aggravated the calf injury he suffered in training camp during Sunday’s loss to the Ravens. According to NFL Network’s James Palmer, Burrow acknowledged that he had sprained his calf and that it is currently in quite a bit of pain, raising concerns for the Bengals’ prospects going forward.

In Week 2 against the Ravens, Burrow threw for 222 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, a notable improvement from Week 1 when he recorded a career-low 82 yards. Despite having performed well, the excessive load and discomfort seem to force the 26-year-old player to stop.

Odell Beckam Jr.

The Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver was another of the big casualties of this second week of the NFL. Beckham Jr. left the field with pain in his ankle in his team’s 27-24 victory over the Bengals. The considered best receiver in the world for several years has repeatedly suffered injuries of this type.

After the game, John Harbaugh, Ravens coach, said that he did not know the extent of Odell Beckham Jr’s injury, so they will be monitoring the evolution of the ankle of the already veteran receiver, winner of the Super Bowl with Tampa Bay.
