NBA 2K24 Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Kobe Bryant Cover and Enhanced Gameplay

Twenty-fifth anniversary for NBA 2K. The annual episode of the legendary basketball game license, NBA 2K24, is released this Friday on all consoles, with Kobe Bryant headlining. The legend of the Los Angeles Lakers, who died in early 2020, occupies the cover and is entitled to a mode, Mamba Moments, dedicated to the highlights of his career. For the rest, the publisher promises an improvement in the realism of the game, in particular “on the movements” modeled on those of players during real matches.

In terms of controls, the game is more intuitive in attack, with greater accessibility for dribbling and easier lay-ups. Previously difficult to put in place, the defense in the racket is also intended to be more effective. Finally, the Takeover (a sort of boost that can be activated at certain times of the game) is present again: its gauge will fill up during the game and will be activated in the sector of your choice (finishing, shooting, play, physics, defense or rebound).

Wembanyama, already better French

For the first time, it will also be possible to play the very popular MyTeam mode, where players try to field the best possible team by opening card packs (modelled on FIFA Ultimate Team), in crossplay, with a player on PlayStation and the other on Xbox.

As for player models, their grades were revealed in mid-August. The best score (98) was awarded to Serbian Nikola Jokic, NBA champion with the Denver Nuggets, ahead of a quintet made up of MVP Joel Embiid (96), Giannis Antetokounmpo (96), LeBron James (96), Kevin Durant (96) and Stephen Curry (96). For his rookie year, sensation Victor Wembanyama (84) is already the highest-rated Frenchman, tied with Rudy Gobert (84).
