Hervé Renard’s players defeated Austria in Vienna this Tuesday (0-1), in the Women’s Nations League.
Two out of two for the Blues. Thanks to a goal from Wendie Renard at the very start of the match (5th), the players of the French women’s team defeated Austria (0-1) without really convincing this Tuesday, in Vienna, as part of of the League of Nations. A second victory in two matches after the 2-0 success against Portugal last Friday.
Sakina Karchaoui’s teammates were only worried about one action in the first period. After a free kick from Dunst, Puntigam hit the bar on his recovery. Before that, the Blues dominated the first 45 minutes from head to toe. And it was precisely with the head that Wendie Renard, the captain of the Bleues, launched hers after a well-struck free kick from Bacha (5th) and scored her 36th international goal. The Blues made numerous blunders in front of goal with missed crosses. A new free kick from Dunst almost ended up in the back (85th) but Eugénie Le Sommer’s teammates held on. On October 27, they will face Poland.
