Mexican judokas stood out with 32 medals at the 2023 Pan American Veterans Championship
A great performance was had by Mexican judokas who attended the 2023 Pan American Veterans Championship, held last weekend in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where they managed to win 32 medals, of which 7 were gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze.
These achievements are marked in the list of results of the two days of competitions in the different categories attended by practitioners from nine nations to be part of the event organized by the Mexican Judo Federation (FMJ) and the Pan American Judo Confederation (CPJ). )
In this way, during the first day of competitions held on September 23, the Mexicans managed to win 5 gold medals from Justino López, -66M6 kg; Aidée Ibañez, -78F3 kg; Antonio Ojeda, -90M9 kg; Sonia Alcantar, -57F1 kg; and Cecilia Martínez, -52F5 kg.
The other 5 silver were obtained by José González, -66M6 kg; Manuel Ramírez, -73M6 kg; Ricardo Nodarse, -81M6 kg; Juan Rodríguez, -100M7 kg; and Josefina López, -70F6 kg; while two more were bronze through Javier Arreola, -73M6 kg; and Ana Cid, -78F2 kg.
On the other hand, on the second day of competitions, registered on September 24, the tricolor judokas won 2 gold medals through Roberto Santillanes, +100M5 kg; and Demetrio Cruz, +100M2 kg.
As for the silver awards, these were a total again thanks to Miguel García, -66M5 kg; Ramón Castañeda, -90M5 kg; Gabriel González, -81M4 kg; Gustavo Cruz, -66M2 kg; Rufino Treviño, -90M2 kg; Jesús Mendoza, +100M2 kg; David García, -73M1 kg; Germán Ortega, -81M1 kg; Rafael Sánchez, -90M1 kg.
Likewise, the lists note that there were also nine bronze medals, through Christian Cabrera, -81M5 kg; Mario Villanueva, -90M5 kg; Hugo Zepeda, -100M5 kg; Felipe Pulido, -90M4 kg; Carlos Trejo, -73M3 kg; Edwin Vargas, -66M2 kg; Jorge Ito, -73M2 kg; Juan García, -90M2 kg; and Jesús Brambila, +100M2 kg.
