Guest on the latest episode of “Match Points” on Tennis Majors, Marion Bartoli compared Novak Djokovic’s season with that of Carlos Alcaraz. And with her usual frankness, the 2013 Wimbledon winner gives the Serbian the advantage.
“I think we need to deepen the analysis and when we look at the season, there is one who won three Grand Slams and one who won one, it’s as simple as that. And one who played four Grand Slam finals and one who played one. I think we need to look more broadly at how everyone is handling the season. And so far, Novak is doing a better job. That’s not to say things won’t change, of course. It’s obvious that Novak is more at the end of his career than at the beginning. But I found the way he handled this season, his mental strength and his ability to recover from everything extraordinary. And I don’t think many people can claim to have the same mental toughness as him. »
