Manon Kury Wins Silver Medal in Beach Wrestling at Mediterranean Beach Games

After the fourth stage of the World Series in Constanta in Romania where Manon Kury finished 5th, on September 7 and 8, she flew to Greece to Heraklion where the third edition of the Mediterranean Beach Games is being held. Celebrated every four years in the post-Olympic Games period, this event, which brings together athletes from the Mediterranean Olympic Committees, takes place from September 10 to 15, for wrestling. Beach Wrestling is one of the sports organized during this competition.

Manon gets off to a bad start in her competition. She lost in her first match (2-1) against the Spaniard Perez Tourino Lydia, but recovered very quickly by winning the two following group matches against the Italian Contrafatto Bianca (4-1) and against the Greek Papavasileiou Agoro (1-0). She reached the semi-final against her compatriot Mathilde Guedon, whom she beat. In the final against the Spaniard Lydia Perez Tourino, she lost and finished her competition with a silver medal. The Lions of Jussey, his family and those around him are very proud of his journey. The next and last competition for sand wrestling 2023 will be the final of the world series stage 5 in Turkey on October 14 and 15, where Manon will be part of the French team selection.
