Lautaro show and Inter takes off, poker at Salernitana

Inter wins thanks to Lautaro Martinez. At Salernitana’s home, the Nerazzurri won 4-0 thanks to the poker of the Argentine striker, who came on in the second half and changed the game: Inzaghi’s team responded to Milan, both Milanese teams are now on 18 points. The Nerazzurri will take on Benfica on Tuesday evening, then there will be the match against Bologna.
Many opportunities, yes, but also many errors in precision in the first half to forget. Inter immediately attacked the match by collecting scoring opportunities repeatedly, starting with Thuram’s header extended for a corner by Ochoa: within a matter of minutes Sanchez missed a direct turn from inside the small area, then Dumfries kicked a ball high that arrived on the right following the development of a throw-in.

After letting the Nerazzurri let off steam, Salernitana took control of the game again clogging up the spaces and appearing in front of Sommer first with Cabral and then with Kastanos, one step away from the lead after releasing a poisonous left-footed shot from the edge. Cabral himself, a few minutes before the end of the first half, scared Inzaghi’s band with a violent conclusion from an off-center position. The usual three substitutions – Mkhitaryan, Asllani and Lautaro respectively for Klaassen, Calhanoglu and Sanchez – gave a shock only after a quarter of an hour: in the 17th minute Lautaro recovered the ball by serving Thuram, the Frenchman put a ball in with his right turns transformed into a goal by the Argentine striker. After four minutes there was an immediate reaction from the Campania team, but Legowski’s equalizer was annulled due to an irregular position by the Pole. The number 10’s magical quarter of an hour came to fruition in the 32nd′: Barella’s ball slightly backwards, perfect for the first-time turn and the 2-0 goal. Then the show, first in the 40th minute on a penalty kick, then in the 44th minute on an assist from Carlos Augusto.

Milan returns to the top

Milan beat Lazio 2-0 thanks to goals from Pulisic and Okafor, confirming first place and leaving the Biancocelesti to lick the wounds of a disastrous start to the season. Sarri has to give up Immobile, who came out battered from the match against Torino, while Pioli focuses on Giroud and Leao up front. Initial study phases, then it’s Felipe Anderson who opens the curtain by doing everything alone, but his left-footed shot ends up on the outside of the net while shortly after it’s Zaccagni who tests Maignan’s reflexes who responds to the central conclusion. Milan grind out the game, but lose Loftus-Cheek to injury just before the half hour mark with Pioli bringing on Musah in his place.

The big opportunity for the Rossoneri came almost at the end of the first half: the cross from the right finds Giroud ready to meet, the Frenchman’s turn is blocked by Provedel who doesn’t hold back. Rejinders arrives on the rebound and, from two steps away, chews up the ball, taking the post and eating up the lead just a moment before referee Massa blows the whistle twice to send the teams to the locker rooms. The second half begins under the banner of Pioli’s team, which attacks the match trying to take control of the game. And the work paid off in the 60th minute when Leao went down the left and served a back ball into the area for the onrushing Pulisic. First left from the American and the ball swells the net, bending Provedel’s hands for the Rossoneri’s lead that seals the match.

Lazio fails to react, Sarri tries with substitutions but it’s still Milan first with Musah then with Pulisic to cause fear before Okafor, two minutes from the end, closes the score with the doubling goal which gives Milan another three points and Lazio, who also see Pedro’s goal canceled out for offside Immobile, another defeat that makes this start to the season even more difficult for the Biancocelesti.

Napoli poker against Lecce

Performance and result for Rudi Garcia’s Napoli, who beat Lecce 4-0 and momentarily rises to third place in the standings, overtaking the Salento team and remaining close to leaders Inter. It took Napoli only fifteen minutes to break the deadlock, thanks to the goal that came from the development of a set piece, excellently beaten by Zielinski and exploited by Ostigard’s header, which closed at the near post and made it 1-0. Lecce, however, does not get upset, continuing to look for Strefezza and Krstovic. It is the number 9 of the Giallorossi who gives the first sign of reaction from his team, with Almqvist’s slalom and his service for Krstovic which unloads the conclusion on which Meret must intervene with a dive, also facing a dangerous deviation. The center forward responds to the centre-forward, with Simeone coming very close to doubling the score five minutes before the break, closing the exchange in the midfield with Zielinski and kicking hard with his right foot, missing the open post to Falcone’s right by centimetres.

In the second half Napoli started as they did at the start of the match, with Osimhen – who came on after the break for Simeone – who completed the second goal with a header at the far post following Kvaratskhelia’s cross from the left. Lecce responded immediately but Strefezza’s goal was canceled out by the referee due to a previous handball by Krstovic. Garcia’s team thus maintains the double advantage and in the 67th minute they also try to close it out with the newly introduced Raspadori, who from the edge of the area tries to surprise Falcone with the tracer aimed at the far post, but the Lecce goalkeeper is attentive. A match that therefore remains alive until its final stages, in which, however, it is Napoli who close the score, first with Gaetano, who face to face with Falcone is very lucid in scoring the goal that makes it 3-0, and then with the penalty in the 95th minute won by Gaetano himself and scored by Politano. Second consecutive success for Napoli and a new stoppage for Lecce after the away defeat suffered against Juventus.
