Los Angeles Chargers’ wide receiver Keenan Allen had a historic performance Sunday with career highs of 18 receptions and 215 yards receiving in the Los Angeles Chargers’ 28-24 win at Minnesota to highlight the performances of former Cal football players in the NFL during Week 3 games. Allen now leads the NFL with 32 receptions through three games and is third with 402 yards receiving.

Others with notably strong performances included Miami’s Chris Brooks (9 rushes, 66 yards) in a 70-20 home win over Denver and Detroit’s Jared Goff (22-33, 243), who threw for one touchdown and ran for another in a 20-6 home win over Detroit. Jake Curhan took every snap at right tackle (75) for the second consecutive game (both wins) in a 37-27 home victory over Carolina.

Cal has a total of 25 former Cal players currently affiliated with NFL teams including 13 on active rosters, eight on coaching staffs, three on injured reserve lists and one on a practice squad.

He also threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams that was the first pass completion of his 11-year NFL career.
