Nagelsmann becomes national coach: Flick’s successor found

Hansi Flick failed in this mission and the 4-1 debacle against Japan sealed his exit. Rudi Völler took over on an interim basis for the game against France – and at least the fans in Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion would have liked to see him stay as national coach for longer. This was confirmed by the chants during the 2-1 win against the runner-up world champions.

So now Nagelsmann. The Upper Bavarian becomes the second-youngest national coach of all time. However, not all fans like the fact that the former coach of FC Bayern Munich was chosen. At least if you believe a recent survey.

National trainer survey: 24 percent of those surveyed said they did not know Nagelsmann

The opinion research institute YouGov asked 2,277 people over the age of 18 in Germany. Only 33 percent of them would support Nagelsmann as Flick’s successor. 18 percent of those surveyed are against Nagelsmann as national coach.

But the strangest value is certainly the following: 24 percent of people said they didn’t even know Nagelsmann. Hard to believe – but a clear survey slap for the ex-Bayern coach. 25 percent of those surveyed did not provide any information. Vote for yourself here:

Nagelsmann defeat in national coach survey: Germany’s favorite is someone else

Ignite fire, revive euphoria – the values speak a different language. The voting might have been completely different for Jürgen Klopp.

The Liverpool legend was and is considered the Germans’ absolute favorite national coach. This was also the result of a survey by IPPEN.MEDIA, in which over 90,000 people (as of September 22nd) voted. Over 27,000, or almost 30 percent, want Klopp – Nagelsmann is only the second choice with just over 13,000 votes, or a good 14 percent.

Nagelsmann and the DFB will play test matches in the USA in October

Maybe Julian Nagelsmann can win the hearts of football-weary Germans with good results. He will have his first opportunity to do so in October, when the DFB entourage travels to America and plays against the USA and Mexico. (mind)
