An initiative of the FISPIC (Italian Paralympic Sports Federation for the visually impaired and blind) and the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Italia Foundation, the “Judo Academy”, which will be presented on the morning of 13 September in Rome, is proposed as a new path of inclusion linked to sport, intended with the aim of promoting the sporting practice of judo among visually impaired and blind people and preparing high-level athletes in view of the Paris 2024 Paralympics, all through a series of traveling events

The project will be presented in the morning of Wednesday 13 September a Roma (Japanese Cultural Institute, Via Gramsci, 74, 11.30 am), during a meeting opened by a video message from Andrea AbodiMinister for Sport and Youth and moderated by Livia Azzaritidoctor and scientific journalist e Gianni Todinidirector of the Askanews Press Agency.
They will intervene Sandro Di Girolamopresident of FISPIC; Andrea Rendinageneral secretary of the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Italia Foundation; Luca Pancallipresident of the CIP (Italian Paralympic Committee); Isabella Rautiundersecretary of the Ministry of Defense; Massimiliano Masellicouncilor for Social Services, Disability, the Third Sector and Human Services of the Lazio Region; Marco Mezzaromapresident of Sport and Health; Domenico Falconepresident of FIJLKAM (Italian Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts Federation).
For his part, the technical director of Judo FISPIC Silvio Tavoletta will coordinate a Paralympic judo exhibition in the presence of medal-winning national athletes. (S.B.)
