National coach Andries Jonker announced his 23-man selection for the Nations League matches with England and Belgium on Tuesday. Twente player Marit Auée makes her debut with the Dutch team. Fenna Kalma, who dropped out just before the World Cup, also returns to the selection.

Jonker makes three changes compared to the World Cup selection. Aniek Nouwen, Merel van Dongen and Stefanie van der Gragt are missing from the 23-person selection. The latter ended her international career after the final tournament in Australia and New Zealand. 43-time international Nouwen is passed over.

Van Dongen was not called up due to personal circumstances, the KNVB reports. Marisa Olislagers (FC Twente) and Eredivisie top scorer from last season Kalma (VfL Wolfsburg) return to the Orange Women. The 21-year-old FC Twente defender Auée is the only debutant in Jonker’s selection.

The Nations League matches against Belgium and England are important in the run-up to qualification for the Paris Olympic Games. “My group of players has expressly stated the goal of qualifying for the Games. To achieve this, we must at least reach the final of the Nations League, so we will have to start well against Belgium,” says Jonker.

The away match against Belgium is scheduled for Friday, September 22 at 8:30 PM. Four days later, on Tuesday, September 26, England of national coach Sarina Wiegman is the opponent. This match takes place in a sold-out Galgenwaard and starts at 8 p.m.

Around the match with losing World Cup finalist England, the Dutch team says goodbye to six former international players: Stefanie van der Gragt (107 international matches), Sari van Veenendaal (91 international matches), Kika van Es (77 international matches), Marije Brummel (29 international matches), Kelly Zeeman (24 international matches) and Ellen Jansen (16 international matches).
