Just a flicker of Vlahovic (who actually scored two goals, one canceled out) after just four minutes to decide the Italian Cup finalgiving to the Juventus a victory (15th in the club’s history) which before the opening whistle seemed unexpected, given the strength of Atalanta who in the last three months have not known a break or an opponent who could stop them. Instead, the Bianconeri repeat their 2021 triumph, again against Atalanta, in the third final lost in six years. A triumph of Allegri who wins the fifth final in his career and establishes a record. The coach from Livorno still doesn’t know what future awaits him on the bench, but he puts in his trademark, the “short face” which in the end is successful, despite being sent off in added time for an incredible protest without a jacket and tearing his shirt. Winning this cup is too important for the Livorno coach. Gasperini loses another finalbut in seven days they will have a perhaps more important one, that of the Europa League in which all of Bergamo hopes to change history.

For Juve, Locatelli is out due to disqualification, Nicolussi Caviglia and Iling junior are inside in the midfield. Vlahovic and Chiesa push forward.
Juve immediately took advantage of their numerical superiority in midfield and took the lead after four minutes. The Cambiaso gate is perfect for Vlahovic who sprints on the edge of offside and doesn’t make a mistake as soon as he entered the area. Everything is good, even the check at VAR confirms it. Hien pushes Vlahovic clearly. The same Serbian attacker gets himself booked for protests in the next play. The game gets ugly. Gasperini wins Atalanta again: Hien, Pasalic and Zapacosta out, Scalvini, Miranchuk and Hateboer in. Allegri’s counter move: NIColussi Caviglia out, Miretti in.
In the 62nd Tourè has a flash, blocked for a corner kick. Vlahovic responds on the counterattack, stopped by De Roon who gets hurt and is forced to come out. Chiesa also comes out in the 70th minute and doesn’t take it very well. Two minutes later Miranchuk wasted in the heart of the Juventus area. On the reversal in front, Cambiaso brushes it for Vlahovic and the attacker touches it just enough to wrong-foot Carnesecchi. While Juve celebrates under the curve, the VAR recalls Maresca: he is offside, everything needs to be done again. Atalanta scores a great chance in the 79th minute: Lookman frees himself and shoots without fail, Perin is beaten, the post saves him. Vlahovic has no more, Allegri understands and replaces him with Miilik. Miretti hits the crossbar in the 84th minute. In the third minute of injury time, following an attacking foul by an Atalanta player, Allegri goes crazy, takes off his jacket, then his tie and is about to tear his shirt: inevitable expulsion. There’s no more time, Perin harpoons the ball and Maresca blows the whistle. Juve wins, the Juventus people are delirious. The Goddess is sent back to the Europa League final. In Bergamo they hope for a different outcome.
