Japanese Training Squadron Visits Cartagena de Indias: Cultural Events and Talks Planned

The Embassy of Japan in Colombia announced between September 5 and 8 a goodwill visit in the city of Cartagena de Indias by the ships Kashima and Hatakaze, two vessels from the training squadron of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.

Parallel to the arrival of the boats this Wednesday, September 6, between 5:00 in the afternoon and 7:30 at night, there will be a cultural presentation with Japanese drums (Wa-Daiko), martial arts (Judo and Kendo), and a musical band, in the La Serrezuela Shopping Center.

In addition, the Bolívar Technological University and the Japanese Embassy announced a talk with the Political Science and International Relations program called ‘Japan: key to its national defense’, in which Rear Admiral Konno Yasushige, commander of the Squadron, will appear as a special guest.
