Interim Mayor of Lanús Welcomes Athletes from Buenos Aires Games to Municipal Building

The interim mayor of Lanús, Diego Kravetz, received at the municipal building the more than 150 athletes from the district who participated in the 2023 Provincial Final of the Buenos Aires Games that were held in Mar del Plata.

During the sports and cultural competition, representatives from different localities participated in the youth categories (from 11 years old), university students (from 18 years old), transplanted people (from 12 years old), people with disabilities ( from 12 years old) and older adults (from 60 years old). As a result, the local delegation obtained 15 medals: six gold, five silver and four bronze.

“We are happy to accompany the sports development of the residents of our district and very proud of their effort and commitment,” said Kravetz, who was accompanied by the Secretary of Education, Employment and Sports, Damián Sala, the Secretary of Economy and Finance, Damián Schiavone and the Undersecretary of Sports, Gabriel Facal.

As every year, the Municipality covered the costs of travel, lodging and travel expenses so that the competitors could participate in the games. In addition, they were given institutional clothing for all categories.

The people from Lanus who won medals were:

Gold medal
– Tasat Sabah – Women’s under 18 swimming.
– Cristo Rey Institute – Female under 18 Handball.
– Gabriela Duran – Swimming transplant us.
– Club Atlético Lanús – 3×3 basketball under 18.
– Maia Panunzio – Women’s under 14 judo, 48 kilo category.
– Pablo Repeto – Sapo older adults.

Silver medal
– Luana Febreiro – Under 18 javelin throw.
– Gael Ferrari – Athletics track under 18 men 110 meters in category with ditches.
– Sofía Vázquez – Women’s under 14 wrestling.
– Valentín Mesa – Acuatlón under 18 men.
– Noa Isas – Women’s under 14 judo, 53 kilo category.

Bronze medal
– Bautista Chirino – Under 18 field athletics shot put.
– Gael Monteleone – Men’s under 16 track athletics 295 meters with hurdles.
– Mía Duarte – Women’s under 14 Taekwondo.
– Ian Espinola – Men’s Under 14 Taekwondo.

The Buenos Aires competition is held every year with the aim of promoting social inclusion and integration through sport and culture.
