“It’s a proud moment, a special day,” said the captain of the English national team after the gala against Bochum. Last August, Bayern signed Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, paying up to a hundred million euros. It is Kane’s first stop outside of Great Britain. Kane will soon be able to set and set more records. His predecessor Robert Lewandowski, now at FC Barcelona, overtook German storm legend Gerd Müller two years ago, whose 40 goals this season from the 1971/1972 season seemed unattainable for decades. Is it a goal to break Lewandowski’s record? “I think game by game,” Kane said. “We are having a good phase and are enjoying it as a team. We have to continue in the same way.”
The thoroughbred footballer should be pleased that he will have the opportunity to do so again on Tuesday. All eyes will be on him in the cup, and more records are expected.
