What’s suddenly going on with HSV?
Only the dream start to the 2nd league (five games, 13 points). Now the second promoted embarrassment in a row. After the 1:2 in Elversberg, now the Schlaffi 1:2 in front of 15,741 spectators at VfL Osnabrück.
Coach Tim Walter (47) afterwards took stock of his embarrassing HSV and summed up the desolate performance: “We didn’t take place. We allowed ourselves to be duped in the duels. We were just incredibly bad.”

In Osnabrück, the Hamburgers were mocked at halftime. “Everything is going the way it always does here against HSV,” the stadium announcer blared into his microphone.
He’s right: It was HSV’s fifth competitive game defeat in a row at the rustic Bremer Brücke. 2019/20 and 2020/21 in the 2nd league, 2017 and 2009 in the DFB Cup.
That too – to use Walter’s language – is “absolutely bad”…
