Dallas (dpa) – The German national basketball player Satou Sabally has received a special award in the WNBA.
The 25-year-old from the Dallas Wings was named Most Improved Player 2023, her club announced. This award is given to the player who, according to the WNBA, has made the greatest development compared to the previous season.
Sabally averaged 18.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 38 main round games in her fourth season in the North American top league. The season before, she averaged 11.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 11 games.
In this year’s playoffs, the former Berliner reached the semifinals with Dallas against the number one seeded team, the Las Vegas Aces. In the best-of-five series, three wins are necessary to advance to the final series. The first game will take place on September 24th.
